A tree, a "happy accident" and the best of my "early works". Lottie made the little girl climbing out of the hollow trunk and I made the rose.
Technique for the tree: White clay, wheel-thrown as a cup. The irregular edges came from underconfident use of a wire to trim the top, and immediately suggested a tree. Bark carved with a square-tip and a pin tool, then filled with brown glaze. Yellow glaze overall. Girl: hand-built. Melted Moss glaze. Rose: hand-built. Red glaze.
Wandering Fire studio, 2003.
Poll results: Number 4 overall. Excellent: one vote Average: one vote
